Kevin Jackson is something of a broadcasting enigma… Less a man with a plan, more a man who somehow became the plan along the way.
Rumour has it he doesn’t find radio stations - they find him. One minute there’s an empty studio, the next Kevin’s behind the mic mid-sentence, as though he’s always been there. No one recalls hiring him, but equally, no one remembers a time he wasn’t.
He approaches broadcasting with a unique blend of confidence, curiosity, and a suspicious disregard for the concept of a running order. Scripts are treated as loose suggestions, schedules as polite guidelines, and silence as something to be filled - preferably with whatever thought has just wandered into his head.
Listeners are never quite sure what they’ll get from Kevin on any given day - and that’s entirely the point. He thrives on unpredictability, delivering moments that range from oddly insightful to gloriously baffling, sometimes within the same sentence.
Of course, no Kevin Jackson show would be complete without Jessica - his long-suffering co-host. She handles the horoscopes, keeps things (somewhat) grounded, and bravely attempts to impose a sense of order on proceedings. It’s a task she approaches with admirable patience, particularly when navigating Kevin’s questionable jokes and ever-flexible approach to organisation.
At Hereward Gold, Kevin has become less of a presenter and more of a permanent fixture. Like the furniture… just louder!
